Effective immediately, the name change — approved by the board of directors for both entities — will coincide with an overhaul of the identity and branding of the company, centered on the principles of its new tagline: “For a cleaner, healthier future.” USGBC Supports CIMS-GB As A LEED-EBOM Resource ISSA recently announced the approval by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building (GB) cri-teria and designation as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) resource. CIMS-GB, introduced last October, aug-ments the CIMS standard to focus on pro-viding environmentally friendly cleaning service to customers and to assist compa-nies in securing credits under the LEED-EBOM Green Building Rating System. So far, 18 building service contractors (BSCs) and in-house service providers have become certified under both CIMS and CIMS-GB. Abatron Products Achieve GREENGUARD Certification Building and restoration products manufac-turer Abatron Inc. recently announced the certification of three products under the GREENGUARD program. WoodEpox, LiquidWood and Abocrete products have all passed rigorous testing and are shown to have low, non-toxic emissions. As part of the testing, products are thor-oughly screened for over 10,000 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and must par-ticipate in ongoing monitoring for quality. Kimberly-Clark Named A Top Corporate Citizen Kimberly-Clark Corporation was recently named one of the top five corporate citi-zens in the world by Corporate Responsibility magazine. Kimberly-Clark was the top non-food consumer products business on the list, placing fifth overall and improving on its 2009 ranking of ninth. Among the things that Corporate Responsibility magazine said Kimberly-Clark had improved upon in the past year are its corporate governance, human rights and environmental responsibility activities. Georgia-Pacific Awarded For Marketing Innovation Georgia-Pacific Professional recently received the Best Marketing Innovation of the Decade award for its enMotion brand of touchless dispensers. The award was presented by the Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The enMotion dispenser is part of Georgia-Pacific's Green by Design pro-gram, designating it as a product that con-tributes to source reduction.
