TRAINING TIPS USING VISUALS TO BRING YOUR PRESENTATION TO LIFE. O ne of the key elements in effective learning is to involve a variety of the human senses in the education process. The use of visual is an example that uses the eyes, hands and mind to drive the subject or skill deeper into the mind of the learner by making it more memorable and re-alistic. Photos, videos, slides, a fl ip chart, Power-Point or better yet actual props/sample items are examples of visuals that will help reinforce key points during your presentation. As an instructor when you put together your training plan and as you review your presentation, think and ask yourself? How can I show this with a graphic, a photo or video to bring it alive for par-ticipants? Instead of using word only, think pic-tures. Challenge yourself to replace or support as many words as you can with visuals during each seminar, presentation or class. As you make your presentation, ask yourself and make notes in the margin of what you can show graphically instead of just talking about it. If you do this each time you do a class, it won’t be long before your presenta-tion grows from a wordy outline to an interesting, interactive and memorable learning experience for everyone in attendance. Best of luck in your training and keep it clean out there.
