CM/Spotlight: restroom care case study Kaivac Inc. The Restroom Speed Machine With the OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning system, you can clean restrooms quickly, effectively and for less money than you ever imagined. W When Kaivac’s OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning system was still in its develop-mental stages, key components were shipped to Florida to be tested by Miami-based H 2 Only Renewable Cleaning. Ruben Rives, owner and chief execu-tive officer (CEO) of the company, is recognized as a pioneer in sustainable cleaning processes and systems. Rives is also known as an innovative professional who is always looking for new ways to clean facilities — especially their restrooms — more quickly, more efficiently, more thoroughly and more hygienically. At the time he tested it, Rives thought the OmniFlex could be perfect for clean-ing and maintaining 20 schools in Florida’s Somerset Charter School System, an important client of his. The OmniFlex allows users to custom-ize a complete cleaning system based on their specific needs. It starts with a specially designed trolley bucket and offers several add-ons capa-ble of transforming the equipment into a dispense-and-vacuum, spray-and-vacuum and/or spray-and-squeegee system. With the new AutoVac component, which was recently certified by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI), the system has proven to be highly effective at floor cleaning as well. The OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning sys-tem is smaller than Kaivac’s No-Touch Cleaning systems, allowing it to maneu-ver in tighter areas. In addition, it is less expensive than Kaivac’s No-Touch Cleaning systems and more cost effective when compared to other cleaning tools and equipment. For example, the AutoVac is as much as 90 percent less expensive than a tra-ditional autoscrubber. The OmniFlex delivered to Rives had a pump add-on feature that converted it to a spray-and-vacuum system. The equipment was tested by Rives along with Rex Morrison, president of the nonprofit Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools (PCHS) Consortium Inc. “By the end of the day, I was ready to get up on the stump and start preaching the value of OmniFlex,” says Morrison. “And, I haven’t stopped since.” In addition to meeting the restroom cleaning needs of the schools, the OmniFlex impressed both Rives and Morrison with its portability and flexibility. For instance, it takes a single operator less than two minutes to put the system together for cleaning or break it down for storage or transport. And, the OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning system and its components are small enough to be loaded into the backseat of a medium-sized automobile — which means Rives can move it from school to school, adding to the equipment’s cost savings and value. “One of our goals is to make our clean-ing procedures repeatable in a variety of different schools,” notes Rives. “The OmniFlex helps us do this; it is the perfect machine for use in smaller schools.” Morrison — who is focused on clean-ing effectiveness and efficiency — adds that the OmniFlex OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning system can cut restroom clean-ing times by as much as 50 percent. “It’s a speed machine and a money maker,” exclaims Morrison. “If you don’t have one in your building, you’re going backward and losing money.” CM Circle Product Information no. 151 This content was provided by Kaivac as part of a paid advertisement.
